Monday
We saw last week that David — a man of war — knew that God's gentleness was his greatest weapon. David carried God's gentleness into battle. And when the battle was over — when he had been delivered from his enemies, from Saul, from every threat against his life — he did not celebrate his own strength. He acknowledged God's. That is what a gentle heart looks like after the victory.
This week every time you encounter a battle or spiritual enemy — for we wrestle not against flesh and blood — pause and remind yourself — 'God's gentleness made David great. It will make me great too.' Let that truth change how you respond.
Wednesday
David did not just experience God's gentleness — he prayed it back to Him. Acknowledgment is the language of a heart that knows where its strength comes from.
As you sit with this week's scriptures — what is God showing you about the connection between gratitude, prayer and gentleness?
Friday
Lord, what You repeat — I want to receive. Gentleness is not weakness. It is Your character working through mine. Make it mine this weekend.
Lord, we thank You for demonstrating gentleness to us — not just as a concept but as a way of life. You taught it through David. You modeled it through Christ. And You have made it available to us as a weapon in every spiritual battle we face. Thank You for being our example, our teacher and our strength. As we go into this weekend may Your gentleness be the weapon we carry. We acknowledge You as the One who gave the victory and we celebrate and give You the glory. Amen.
This weekend — go back and read both 2 Samuel 22:36 and Psalm 18:35 side by side. Let the repetition settle into your heart. God said it twice — receive it twice.
